Hotaru, meaning firefly, used to be a spring festival to welcome the arrival of fireflies.  Sadly Tokyo doesn&#8217;t see any fireflies, so in lieu of bugs, Panasonic sent 100,000 blue LED solar powered bulbs down the Sumida River.  It was beautiful!  We stood among the crowds and watched these glowing little orbs float down the river.
