Alternate working title- Running: How Laurel Got Her Groove Back
I’m elated to be writing this blog entry after a FANTASTIC run. As you all have read over the past week or so, I’ve been whining and moaning about just not feeling it when I go out for runs. I lost muscle and endurance on vacation, then caught a cold. So it’s been a slow journey to get back to where I was pre-vacation in terms of speed and distance. And I’m still not there! But today I busted out 5 miles like it wasn’t a big deal. I felt strong and had good energy the whole time!
I should also mention, while we’re being honest, that I had a big setback this weekend. I ate McDonalds! I haven’t has fast food all year, not even in America!! It just sounded so good and Dan and I didn’t want to cook. I woke up the next morning feeling bloated and down. I wondered if I blew it, if that was the end of all my dieting and exercising. I gained a pound. But it was just one meal, out of hundreds that I’ll eat this year, and I’m over it! So on with the healthy eating! At least I’m still doing well avoiding dairy!
Officially down 24 pounds from January 3rd!
But on to other things. I ordered my first DSLR camera Saturday from Amazon! They said it would arrive Wednesday, so imagine my shock when I checked package tracking and it said it had been delivered! I flew out of my apartment and down to the lobby where it was waiting in a mail locker.
I love getting stuff in the mail!
I have been researching cameras and lenses for MONTHS now. I kid you not, I have asked all my photographer friends for advice and studied up online and played with camera in electronics stores. And it was finally here!
My first thought upon pulling the camera out was, “oh my, this thing is HUGE!”
Dan and I are hoping to go to Tokyo Disneyland Friday, so it will be a wonderful chance to take some shots and see how they look! In the mean time I’ll be here on my couch with Penny, studying this 300+ page manual…
Hope to show you all some great pictures soon!
