First off, I’m at a loss of words for the events that transpired in Boston yesterday. I have only been a runner for a year and some change, but I have developed quite a bond with the running community in person and in social media. If only non-runners knew what running the Boston Marathon meant to us runners. It’s the crème de la crème, people have trained for years to qualify to run that race. For someone to rob those runners of that moment in the sun is truly awful. Whether or not you’re a prayer, send good thoughts to those struggling with yesterday’s events.
I ran an easy 5k today, just to get out and move my legs. With my girl friends visiting for 2 weeks, I’m not sure how much time I’ll get in for running or cross training. The weather was nice, sunny and warm. I continued getting house work done and general reorganizing. One project we finally tackled was a growing stack of bibs and safety pins. We decided to hang them up with our medals. Dan did a great job!
Last night I also started randomly knitting again. I used to love to knit (and still do!)
I just love knitting with baby yarn! It’s SO soft! This was actually a blanket I began knitting quite a while ago, when I heard my college gal pal Carlie was pregnant with a girl. The girl is now nearing one and a half! Maybe I’ll have this done by the time she goes to college. Or maybe my sister will have another baby that’s a girl. Kind of fun, not knowing where this cozy plushy blankie will end up!
With all the craziness of Boston, I’ll leave you with a happy image… Teddy Grahams tanning at the beach cupcakes!
Aren’t these just adorable? My high school friend Nicole loves to make cupcakes and just got a gorgeous new Kitchenaid mixer (jealous!!). She though she’d test it out with these fun cupcakes and I just love them!!
Yes, that’s what we are going to get you a Kitchenaid! You so deserve it! Great job on medals, not including the ones I have at home for you 🙂
